To the president of the Catalan Republic, Francesc Macià

Excellency,
With our hands on our hearts, which are bursting with love of our land and with the reverential gesture of our full civic dignity, MIRADOR salutes you as the popular president of Catalonia. At this important hour, when you, on behalf of everyone, make a grand entrance into History, we no longer see you as the austere fighter who spread the longstanding protests of Catalonia around the world, nor as the leader of a party which, in holy rebellion against the impositions of force, raised the patriotic enthusiasm of the people and the democratic fervour of the multitudes. You are, above all else, the founder of the Catalan Republic and our President.
