SCHOOLS FILL WITH LIGHT

One of the first major initiatives undertaken by the democratic authorities of the Second Republic was reform of the education system. Secular and mixed schools, the liberal tradition in the opening years of the century, revived in Barcelona. The Institut Escola, the Escola del Mar, the Escola del Bosc and the network of municipal schools all date from this time.
